History of Marshall Motor Holdings
The Marshall name dates all the way back to 1909, when a small lock-up garage was opened in Cambridge. During both world wars, the company did its part by handing over the premises for vehicle servicing and repairs. The garages were reopened in 1945, when Marshall started to specialise in the sale of Austin vehicles.
In the 1970s, Marshall’s franchise base expanded to include a number of popular British manufacturers, while the 1990s saw the development of a multi-franchise car centre in Cambridge. Recent years have seen Marshall acquire further dealerships, such as Ridgeway Garages, a dealer group representing 12 manufacturers across 30 sites.
